Polyvinylpyrrolidone K30, Povidone K30 (PVP K30)
CAS No..: 9003-39-8

Introduction & Applications
Like all homopolymer series products, Povidone K30 contains hydrophilic and oleophilic groups in its molecular structure, which can interact with many solvents, making it soluble in water, a variety of alcohols, carboxylic acids, amines, halogenated and other organic solvents. The solubility is only limited by its own viscosity.
Povidone K30 has been widely used in medicine and is one of the three new medical excipients advocated by the world.  The most widely used adhesives are tablets and granules.  PVP can also be used as a flow aid for capsules, a disinfectant and lubricant for ophthalmology, a cosolvent for injections, a dispersant for liquid preparations, and a stabilizer for enzymes and heat-sensitive drugs.  Povidone K30 can also be combined with iodine to synthesize PVP-I disinfectant.  PVP is also used as a cryopreservation agent in medicine.
