Cinnamyl alcohol is a kind of organic compound, the trans form is colorless or slightly yellow long fine needle crystal, the cis form is colorless liquid, similar to hyacinth and ointment fragrance, sweet. Soluble in ethanol, propylene glycol and most non-volatile oils, poorly soluble in water and petroleum ethers, insoluble in glycerin and non-volatile oils. It is mainly used for preparing apricot, peach, raspberry, plum flavor, cosmetics flavor and soap flavor. Also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
